Greening & Re-developing Arid School Sites
Working with your ‘whole school community’ the OASES team and Groundwork have the skills and knowledge to help your school to develop your school site for learning and play AND help your staff gain skills in using these spaces. This support can be accessed in many different ways:
- Extended Schools—we will help your school to set up an After Schools Club. Our staff will then run the Club, focusing our attention upon the areas you wish to see developed e.g. a Gardening Club, a Biodiversity Club, a Learning Outside the Classroom Club. The activities delivered through the club will not only be fun and engaging for the children they will also provide useful outdoor learning resources for your school and the necessary maintainence to ensure sustainability.
- CPD—our team will work with your staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills to run a G.R.A.S.S. Club &/or use the resultant resources for effective teaching and learning.
- In School Support—our team will deliver sessions within your school to enable and enhance Learning Outside the Classroom. These may be one off sessions to deliver a certain aspect of the curriculum or regular sessions to assist your school to more effectively implement Learning Outside the Classroom.
